Argonne National Laboratory is the first of the US National Laboratories to be founded and is located ~25km southwest of Chicago. The campus is situated within a forest preserve and provides many opportunities for outdoor activities (e.g., running and biking). Argonne has a rich heritage starting with Enrico Fermi as its first Director. Visitors need to get a gate pass to enter the Argonne campus. Note that for foreign nationals this has to be done some time in advance of the visit. For US citizens the procedure is easier but still requires a day or so of processing. Visitors can stay at the Argonne Guest House, which is conveniently located on-campus.

Please see below for directions on reaching Argonne; more detailed instructions may be found on the Argonne visitor webpage. Once onsite, our group is located in the C wing of Building 360, which is a short walk from the Argonne Guest House. Please see the campus map as a guide.
